​Mark your calendars for October 18th-20th as we bring Alfred Uhry's Pulitzer Prize-winning play, "Driving Miss Daisy," to our stage. Set against the backdrop of a changing America, this poignant and powerful story follows the unlikely friendship between an elderly Jewish widow and her African American chauffeur. Through heartwarming moments and poignant conversations, "Driving Miss Daisy" explores themes of race, identity, and the enduring bonds that can transcend prejudice and societal barriers.

​OUR DIRECTOR: Thurston Williams

Thurston Williams is ecstatic to be joining Lexington Live as the Director of Driving Miss Daisy, and is grateful for the opportunity to lead such a talented cast and crew. He believes the themes of friendship and love in this story are timeless, and is excited to stage such an impactful play.

 

Thurston earned his Bachelor's in Theatre Performance from UNC Charlotte. He has performed with various theatres throughout North Carolina including: Ensemble Stage, Shared Radiance Performing Arts Company, and Bright Star Touring Children's Theatre. He has served as Assistant Director for "Proof" at Kernersville Little Theatre, where later this year he will Direct "Miracle on 34th Street." Thurston also produces and directs shows independently through his Sleepless Nights Theatre troupe, where he has staged productions of "Waiting for Godot" by Samuel Beckett and "Lungs" by Duncan Macmillian.
